New Jersey is broke.  They are delaying tax refunds, and making it super-difficult to file for Homeowner Rebates.  In addition, they are simply concocting penalties for your business hoping you'll ignore them, so they can quickly seize your bank account.

The Division of Taxation, which use to be more taxpayer-friendly, is now your enemy!

Knowing the system and the people

Whether you are looking to change the law or to protest an assessment, you deserve to be heard by the appropriate official who can help you resolve your problem. How do you find this person? The tax laws and the departments that administer them can be confusing, and it is easy to get lost in the bureaucratic maze.

Audit assistance

Kowal Consulting can help you navigate the murky waters of an audit, from sales and use taxes to personal income to corporation income and franchise taxes. No matter where you are in the audit process, be it initial contact or collections, we can help you achieve a satisfactory resolution.

Misery of dealing with Pioneer Credit  - the private collection company you don't have to deal with!  .

    • I can go around them, and save you ten percent in collection fees!
      • REFERRAL COST RECOVERY FEE - Beginnieng sometime in late 2003,  the Division began imposing a Referral Cost Recovery Fee as authorized by N.J.S.A. 54:49-12.3 and N.J.A.C. 18:2-2.5(d). In cases where any State tax remains unpaid and the Division refers a taxpayer's account to an outside debt collection agency, a Referral Cost Recovery Fee in the amount of 10% of the amount referred will be assessed. This fee is in addition to any interest or penalties imposed.

Specialized service

  • New Jersey Tax Judgements - investigate if the judgement was based on fact.   Possibly get judgement vacated
  • New Jersey tax warrants and levies
  • Negotiate installment payments - pay off your NJ tax liability over time.  Stop collection activity and bank account garnishment.

Bruce Kowal meets with Division of Taxation officials at important seminars attended by only  a select group of taxation specialists in New Jersey.

If you haven't filed any type of tax return, you can get the penalties waived - forgiven.  These can easily be an additional 33% in tax.

But you can't do it yourself!

You need me to contact the Division on your behalf, negoitate a lessening of penalties, before we reveal your identity.  It's worth it.
